The Government has set out a commitment to introduce a statutory brownfield register in order to ensure that 90% of suitable brownfield sites have planning permission by 2020 as part of its plan to boost housebuilding.
The Brownfield Land Register is a list of previously developed sites that may be suitable for potential future development.
