Lancashire Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS)
This dataset contains spatial layers associated with the Lancashire Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS), published in January 2026. These layers were developed collaboratively through a local partnership, following statutory guidance from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
The dataset includes:
- Areas of Particular Importance for Biodiversity (APIB), including nationally and locally designated conservation sites, irreplaceable habitats, and other ecologically significant locations.
- Potential Measures where practical actions if undertaken would achieve the most for biodiversity and the wider environment.
- Areas that Could Become of Particular Importance for Biodiversity (ACBs), such as ecological corridors and stepping-stones that support nature recovery.
Together, these spatial layers represent a strategic vision for enhancing and connecting habitats across Lancashire to support biodiversity and wider environmental objectives.
