Summary

The London Green Infrastructure Framework (LGIF), first published in January 2026, brings together key London-wide green infrastructure data in one place. You can use it to evidence, plan and prioritise the green infrastructure Londoners need. See http://www.london.gov.uk/london-green-infrastructure-framework for more information about its purpose and use, and https://apps.london.gov.uk/lgif/ for the map itself. This London Datastore page hosts: Two methodology reports produced by LUC who developed the LGIF analysis. The Technical Methodology is for those wanting to interrogate (or replicate) the approach, while the Background & Findings report is for those wanting to understand the outcomes of the analysis. The London-wide data presented in the web-map (please note some errors in the initial CSV file were corrected in the version labelled 01.04.26 - if you downloaded an earlier file, it has been superseded). This includes the ratings of each hex for combined objectives, single objectives, and indicators. GIS users can use this to explore the data further and integrate the findings with their own data and mapping. Note that results across wards, boroughs, and bespoke areas can be interrogated via the web-map itself (refer to the ‘how to use’ tab). A 'data dictionary' that explains the fields in the hex results CSV. The hex grid layer that the data (from the CSV file) will need to be linked to in order to make use of the LGIF analysis in other mapping systems. The colour specifications used in the web-map (hexadecimal code). Please reproduce these as far as is appropriate for your use so that contradictory colour schemes are not created. A change log in which any changes to the data or methodology of the LGIF will be recorded.
