Summary

The National Diabetes Audit (NDA) provides a comprehensive view of diabetes care in England and Wales. It measures the effectiveness of type 1 diabetes healthcare against National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) Clinical Guidelines and NICE Quality Standards. ###Making clinical audit data transparent In his transparency and open data letter to Cabinet Ministers on 7 July 2011, the Prime Minister made a commitment to make clinical audit data available from the national audits within the National Clinical Audit and Patient Outcomes Programme. ###What information is being made available? Type 1 diabetes audit data for 2020 to 2021 are available at England and Wales level. ###Using and interpreting the data Data from the National Diabetes Audit, Type 1 Diabetes Audit should not be looked at in isolation when assessing standards of care. ###Accessing the data The data are being made available on the data.gov website. ###What does the data cover? The open data file contains demographics, care processes, treatment targets and insulin pump usage data for the type 1 cohort at CCG/LHB, ICS, Provider, Region and National level. ###What period does the data cover? The data covers the period 01 January 2020 to 31 March 2021. This National Report was published on 16 June 2022.
