Summary

Habitat mapping for 476 raised bog sites across Scotland, derived from aerial photo interpretation (API) and field surveys by the Scottish Wildlife Trust and NatureScot. Created and updated between 2023 and 2024. This polygon dataset captures 17,234.4 ha of raised bog habitats classified according to the following EUNIS (European Nature Information System) codes: D1.11 - Active raised bogs (referable to Annex I habitat H7110) (4,489.9 ha); D1.12# - Degraded raised bogs still capable of natural regeneration (referable to Annex I habitat H7120) (11,377.3 ha); D1.12x - Damaged, inactive bogs not capable of natural regeneration within 30 years (1,367.2 ha).
