Summary

Datasets for remaining landfill capacity by site in England at the end of the calendar year. Data is available for 2015-2024 on this record. Permitted landfill operators have a condition in their permits to report the remaining landfill void (capacity) of their sites at the end of the calendar year. This information although used for compliance purposes is also used by the Government, Local Authorities and other interested parties for statutory reporting and waste planning purposes. Data is provided in cubic metres and collated into a national dataset. There are only around 500 operational landfills in England and Wales. Operators can claim commercial confidentiality for their data at time of submission. Pre 2006-2014 data is available on request. INFORMATION WARNING Data for sites with a commercial confidentiality in place are not provided.
