Anonymised dataset from a two-wave survey of people who claimed Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) between April and June 2009. The first wave was a face-to-face survey of 3,650 people conducted between December 2009 and February 2010. Participants who agreed to be contacted again for the study were also interviewed in the follow-up survey conducted between July and September 2010: 1,842 people took part. Survey looks at factors leading to ESA claims and information about the social characteristics of people who claim ESA, including their employment and labour market experiences.
