Summary

The borehole information pack from borehole TH0411 at the UK Geoenergy Observatories (UKGEOS) facility at Thornton Science Park in Cheshire. This release from the British Geological Survey (BGS) contains borehole data collected during the construction of the observatory during 2022 and 2023, as well as data subsequently collected on the recovered core. Details of the borehole design, including details of installed instrumentation, are also included. The following data are included in the datapack: - a borehole schematic, - borehole metadata, - geophysical wireline logs, - a sedimentary log of core obtained from the borehole, - a discontinuity log of core obtained from the borehole, - a graphic log incorporating wireline data and the logging data, - the depths of electrodes installed as part of the PRIME ERT (electrical resistivity tomography) system in the borehole. The following data from the BGS Core Scanning Facility for this borehole are provided separately in the UKGEOS Cheshire Core Scanning Dataset (https://doi.org/10.5285/f22452ce-78a0-4e34-ada8-3a23baf1af3f): - x-ray radiographic images (RAD) - geophysical property data (MSCL-S) - high-resolution optical images (LS) - x-ray fluorescence (XRF)
