Summary

The Defra funded FISP Project Ropes to Reefs assesses the ecological and fisheries impacts of offshore aquaculture, notably the Offshore Shellfish Ltd mussel farm in Lyme Bay. The project utilised a range of methods to quantify impacts on the marine environment including underwater video, acoustic telemetry, Hydroacoustic and multibeam echo sounder technology. Surveys were undertaken between June 2023 and November 2024.
