Early years health indicators

Explore general health trends, search by specific health indicators you're interested in and explore pre-defined public health topics.

You can view data on reviews from England through Fingertips – a service provided by the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities, part of the Department for Health and Social Care. An API is available to retrieve data in JSON or CSV format.

You can view data on reviews from Scotland through the Scottish Public Health Observatory (ScotPHO) provided by Public Health Scotland. Data can be downloaded in PDF reports or as CSV, RDS, JSON or Parquet files.

Charts and data can be found in 'profiles' topic pages including on:

  • pregnancy and birth health indicators, breastfeeding prevalence, hospital admissions and A&E attendances
  • mental health services and outcomes including perinatal and children's mental health
  • patterns and trends in child obesity, physical activity, and nutrition at national, regional, and local levels

For Welsh health data you can search and download public health reports on the Public Health Wales website in PDF and Word document formats.

In Northern Ireland, the Department of Health publishes official statistics as PDF reports and .XLSX data tables on the department of Health website.
