Public transport stations and stops

Find the location of public transport access points in England, Scotland and Wales - bus stops, rail stations, tram stops, ferry terminals, airports, automated people mover stops, metro and underground stations.

The National Public Transport Access Nodes (NaPTAN) and National Public Transport Gazetteer (NPTG) datasets are updated continuously as changes are made by local transport authorities. They are published by the Department for Transport under the Open Government Licence. NaPTAN allows you to download all stops and filter by local authority area. Geographic areas are defined in the NPTG for cities, towns, villages and other localities across Great Britain.

Data is available to download in CSV and XML formats. Schema guides which document the data structure and field definitions and an API are also available for developers working with the data.

A new rail replacement location data set is available alongside the others as a CSV from July 2026. It provides information on passenger pick up and drop off locations for planned rail replacement services.
